Rural Renting: How to find places for rent in rural areas? (Grand Forks: rentals, house)

I currently live in Grand Forks, ND and want to move north to a rural small town. (Saint Thomas, Cavalier, etc.) A two bedroom or more house would be great, but I don't know where to look for rental properties. Does anyone know how to find rental properties in these areas? Is there a classfieds or do I have to ask around the specific towns to find out?

Perhaps a "wanted to rent" ad in the local newspapers?

In rural towns, there are usually a small cafe and/or bar that will have a poster board for people to advertise. Try those. Also, rental agencies in the closest larger city will sometimes have rentals. good luck

Try sellinminot and craigslist... Also, walk into some local bars/restaurants and just ask the local yokel waitress.
