Default Looking for a Public Lake to bring the kids in the area

Just recently moved to Wilkes Barre and I'm looking for a public lake that I can bring my kids to for the day. Can't really do a pool bc my kids are 8, 4, 2 and 1 and I really think this would be too much for me to handle LOL! I know there is a public lake in Hawley (my mother lives there) but I don't want to drive that far to get there. I'd rather something closer. If you know of anything, please let me know...Thanks so much in advance.

Wow you took the words out of my mouth John - I was about to suggest Frances Slocum and what about the Coal Street Park - I may have the name wrong - but I heard that they have a water park or a kiddie pool.

Someone from the area help me out here!

Frances Slocum. It's a pool, but very family friendly.

Hickory Run State Park has a very nice natural swimming area. Coal Street Park does not have a pool and probably will not for the foreseeable future.

Attraction Details : VisitPA

isn't Harvey's Lake public? I may be wrong, it's been forever and a day since I've been there.
