Heading up for a hike this weekend, my fiance and I thought we might browse for wedding rings. Does anyone know of any antique shops that deal in rings and jewelry?

The CD member "MollyMe" has a thread called: " I know all about the poconos!!! Ask me!!!"
I am so sure some one in there will hook you up with names, locations etc.
I know that there are plenty of antique shops up there, but couldn't supply you with any important info like names, directions and such.
Another favorite place of mine to go to, is marshalls creek fleamarket.
I am always so surprised, on what people want to get rid of.......it's like a treasure hunt to me
BTW....you might want to keep your eyes on estate sales as well.....
Good luck!

Default The Castle in Hawley

Hands down- the Castle in Hawley.

FYI- many antique shops in New Hope and Frenchtown go up
and get their stuff.

Default The Engine Shops

There is a big antique mall in Stroudsburg that is called The Engine Shops...its off of Main Street. There are many different dealers in there......not sure who would have rings. Its a big old brick building........quite fun and interesting.

Ooo Fun! Does anyone know of the antique store that was up a road past some diner in East Stroudsburg? Like if you were on your way to the Stroud Mall and you go the back roads through town down by that Greek Restaurant... its out past some family diner somewhere.... does that ring a bell or make any sense? Thanks!

Sorry this is a bit late but an antique store named "One Of A Kind" on Rt. 611 in Tannersville, PA is a great place to try. The owner designs her own jewelry and has eclectic choices both antique and modern. There is much in the way of general antique items, prints, furniture etc. to browse through after you're done. Overall a great place to shop. There is more stuff downstairs so ask how to get there

The owner will take appointments for jewelry so why not give her a call? I have picked up some beautiful jewelry at this shop and have found the staff and owner to be very helpful and friendly.

The store is about 1/4 mile south of the Tannersville Inn on Rt. 611 S and is a one story older building with all kinds of primitives and shutters etc. outside. It would be a good idea to call first before going to know what days the store is open.

Congratulations and have a happy life!

Default Re: Hawley Castle

Unfortunately, the Hawley Castle or old silk works has closed. The place has been emptied out after auctions and is now just for sale. It wasn't great for true antiques but rather known for their reproductions.

The Hawley Exchange just after it on the right is a nice antique co-op with many dealers and has two floors of stuff. Lots of parking too.

DO go to the basement to be amazed by the private collection the owner has of vaseline glass. It is uranium glass that glows under blacklight. The displays are lit and just radiant! A MUST SEE for glass collectors and those who have never seen vaseline glass before. It has to be worth a fortune and is definitely worth seeing!

There are a few places along that stretch that have some interesting things if antiques are your thing.

Happy hunting!

I was just curious if anyone here was familiar with the Castle in Hawley.........it is closed now but had some very unique things......is there any other place that mirrors the Castle. That would be considered antique, correct?

I do not think there is anything to compare to the Castle. However, my impression was that most of The Castle inventory was reproductions of antiques, more so than actual antiques.

Carriage Barn in Clarks Summit is quite large.

BTW, Castle is no longer for sale; it's sold. My friend worked there when we were teenagers and it was Shermans' Underwear Factory. Funny how things change. LOL
