Hi, everyone~

My husband & I moved to Albrightsville close to 3 years ago, and have been waiting for the day someone would open up a coffee shop/cafe within Albrightsville itself. We always thought the perfect place for one would be in the Pine Point Plaza area-- where Hazel Park supermarket, Watchung Bank, the video rental, and the post office are.

Today we noticed construction in the plaza and asked an employee at Hazel Park if he knew what they were building. "A coffee shop," he said.

Whoo-hoo! We're so glad. (And we don't even drink coffee regularly. I'm mostly a tea drinker.)

Right now, we go to the Alpine Bakery, which is only about 8 minutes from us, but is part of Jim Thorpe. (BTW, we highly recommend it: The people there are very sweet, and we love their bagels and desserts. You can also serve yourself some good regular or decaf coffee.)

We'll still go to the Alpine regularly, but we're happy they're opening up a coffee shop in the Albrightsville area; it's always seemed like we don't have a "gathering place" for the community (with the exception of places of worship). Good to see, too, that they're building without having to chop down trees in the area: It's being built on hilly vacant land adjacent to Hazel Park.

Does anyone know anything about the coffee shop, and when it will be ready? Wondering if it will be a cafe-type setting. It would be terrific if it had a used-book section and some community events, but maybe that's getting a bit greedy... We'll be checking it out either way...
