You would think. You should always know the area and what is around the area in terms of shopping, etc. before you buy a house.

Its amazing that this persons question cannot be answered without all this hoopla! I wish I could help you Geos, but I dont live in Scranton and dont really know the area well.

I dont think Geos wants your opinions about what should of been done prior to moving to Scranton or the technicality of where steamtown is exactly!

...He just wants to know about gyms, tennis, shopping and parks...Geez guys give him a break!

Default Nice area to live

Have been in Scranton for 1.5 yrs now...the area you've picked up is pretty good! Its just around a few mins drive from downtown so you've got good restaurants there...the University is close by so you could use the tennis courts out there. Hardware Bar is in downtown Scranton

Gyms...think they have a Planet Fitness...but if you ok driving 7-8 miles would recommend ProFitness by Birney Ave. Pizza place - La Trattoria would be 3-4 mi

all in all..a nice area to be in...stuff is within driving distance so you should be ok
