Default Where did our NEPA posters go

I thought this might be fun.

It is time to find old friends in NEPA

It is time to play, "Where did ? go"

So, I will start:

Where is Merman Mike?? Are you out there Mike. Miss all your informative posts.

You know, if you have a problem with me exploiting this region's well-noted homophobic slant that, coupled with other pressing issues, is holding back economic progress, then by all means let it be known!

Wow, totally off base. I always admired Merman Mike. He is a scholar and a gentleman.

I'm also missing MemoriesBre (whom I know is alive and well via Facebook), pennsypat, Dawne, donnanhonesdale, Jimmy Lane, rockyy, new2pa, Merman Mike, ScrantonVideoProductions, and several other formerly prolific contributors who have disappeared. I even miss greentown and Lehigh Valley Native, even though I'm pretty certain both hated my guts. I also miss The Commish, Karnak, InfectedMushroom, and a few others. I've noticed City-Data has begun to decline in recent months. It had a good run. I've been active here for over four years, and I am now sensing that my time to leave may be nearing, especially since a couple of moderators (who shall remain nameless) no longer want me here. There's just too much hostility here anymore (i.e. that uncalled for subtle personal stab against me from Galagaone, who apparently thinks there isn't a problem with homophobia in the region but didn't need to be so catty towards me). The NoVA sub-forum is even worse with the "Sunshine and Puppies" crew "politely" taking jabs at people and getting passes for it while any attempt for others to defend themselves are met with infractions. (Sigh). Oh well. All good things must eventually come to an end.

Most people DON'T stay on bulletin boards for more then two years from my experience. I've been posting on bb's for at least 10 years and it's very rare for more then a few people to keep posting for year after year. Priorities change, circumstances change, interests change. This is a relocation forum, most of the people that pop in here are looking for information about the area, and it's nice when helpful posters give them thoughtful responses and information, but once they find a place and settle in real life takes over. Not a bad thing IMHO.
