Go there alot.
This is great news. I've always wanted to scope out the Pocono Cinema some time. It is on my "to do" list after the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock.

Thanks so much for the info on the cinema! When I saw Denise and heard that it was closing, I was very disappointed. Then I saw the Pocono Record article and figured it was gone for good. It's the only place I'll go to see a movie anymore, I can't stand the newer theaters.

I got my undergrad degree at ESSC (it was state college back then!). It was a wonderful experience. It is sort of our family's school I've had several aunts and cousins attend ESSC/ESU. My little brother got his masters from there and he and I both met our wives there. It had the best sunsets I have ever seen. (go behind Notre Dame HS if it hasn't been developed yet). Get a feel for the college life at Rudy's tavern. Sorry to say my favorite Italian restaurant of all time burned down years ago, but used to love to go to Albino's and eat in the Yankees Room. The Gap area is great! We used to hike back to it along the Broadhead. Was just back for Homecoming this past fall and the campus looked great. Lots of new stuff. I think you will really like it Larado

Thanks for the post, Karen_s. I've heard of the Deer Head Inn before! I love their web site. . .it's so pleasant in the digital era to hear the subtle crackles of the turntable playing "Winter Wonderland." I'm glad to know the inn is in the region. Yet another reason to get my hopes up for the job in E'Burg. I'm delighted by Liftie's report that the theater is back in business! If I get the job at ESU, I'd gladly volunteer to serve on the committee of a non-profit group that might keep it going.

Nepa-x-pat, thanks for sharing your positive insights about the university and the town. I, too, think that I would enjoy living there. Of course, at this point it's all up to the folks on the search committee at ESU.
