I live near Lake Harmony.
There is great golfing, swimming, tennis, hiking, you name it.
Also a fantastic swimming beach on the lake.

You did not state what activities you were interested in, but here are a couple of suggestions that are close by if the ones mentioned in the immediate vicinity of lake Harmony do not fit your desires.

Camelback Water Park in Tannersville - 15 min drive east on I80.

Hickory Run State Park - plenty of well maintained hiking trails, most of them along streams
(15 min drive west on Rte 940 or I80 to Rte 534 will put you at the park office).

Bike Rides - you can rent bikes and ride the very scenic, wooded, well maintained trail which parallels the Lehigh River. Very easy ride even for small children. You can start in White Haven and ride all the way to Jim Thorpe 24 miles to the south if your heart desires.

White Water rafting - not sure if there will be water release during the last week in Aug, but you can check with a local rafting company.

The rafting companies rent both rafts and bicycles and there are several to choose from...
