Other than George Banks and Selenski I can't really think of any that would really belong on a list.

Curley and Wolsifer aren't anything special except for who they were. Someone mentioned Bardo and that was pretty bad but there are other recent ones I can think of that were worse, they just weren't committed by some young white kid.

Coalman, allow me to disagree with you.
Joann Curley systematically poisoned her husband over a period of time but doesn't belong on the list because of who she was? Who was she? Nobody in particular until she was found guilty. Glen Wolsieffer was found guilty of murdering his wife while their daughter slept in the next room and tried to make it look like an "intruder" did it. (Surprised he didn't claim it was a "one-armed intruder" a la Dr. Sam Sheppard). Until his conviction, he was a dentist from Wilkes-Barre. Nobody ever heard of him before then, except for his patients and his two paramours. Oh and lest we forget, caused his brother, Neil, to drive into the path of a truck because of his anguish at having to give a statement to the District Attorney. As for George and Hugo, what did we know aboout either of these two miscreants that would have made them special? Nothing. Zip. Nada. They were just two people. Not much different from the rest of us until they commited their evil deeds.

Here's another name for the "list". Henry Stubbs. Oh, wait. He wasn't anybody special. Until he murdered a Russian woman Elena Herring and hanged her 6-year-old daughter from a water pipe in the basement of their house in Wilkes-Barre.

You would have passed these people on the street and never given a thought to them being special. Possible exception - Michael Parrish, the ex-corrections officer who killed his girlfriend and their baby.

The list so far has male and female, young and not so young, varying ethnicities, blue- and white-collar folks whose only common thread is that they did things that broke the laws of a civilized society.

Not so sure who would make your list, coalman. Or just what age or ethnicity has to do with the fact that murder is murder.

What about the crazy woman that had a son, she names him Zachary and her last name was Dachery, "Zachery Dachery". That should of been a clue right there, he was little, maybe around 2 or so. She kills him, chops him up and puts his body in a garbage bag, then the hubby comes home and asks what is in the bag, she tells him, he continues to eat dinner, after that they went and dumped his body in the lake, river or whatever, this happened in the late 80's.

I understand but I don't think they are extraordinary cases. I mean if Curley was a male does it get same coverage? Same thing with Wolsifer, his case only made headlines because he was prominent person in the community.

What I'm getting at it is the media has made many of these cases, they latch onto certain cases only because of who thew people are involved and not necessarily what they did.

Here is a link to a PR story on Monroe County’s infamous killer: http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080413/NEWS/804130349
For a good two decades Edward Maps was the most talked about criminal.
Today; it seems we have new heinous crimes committed all the time. It was much easier to have just one villain.

OK I do agree that naming someone Zachary Dackery should be against the law.

Also along the same line, I was shown a house today on Birch St in Wilkes Barre. A murder took place there that was featured in a life time movie.

I saw the house today and I did NOT get a good feeling.

I hear that the killer has served his time and is living in Wilkes Barre with his mom.

Anyone know anything else?
