Default The Hideout or Saw Creek Estates

I am interested in renting a home for a long weekend. I've done a bit of research and I THINK I would like to be in either Saw Creek Estates or The Hideout. I like the idea of having a restaurant close by. I am still not exactly sure what area I want to stay. I want to see Jim Thorpe, Bushkill Falls, some shopping and possibly the new casino. So, I'm not sure which of these locations would be more centrally located. Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Easy, Easy .........NO to Saw Creek. The Hideout is wonderful, fine, everyone likes it........
Saw Creek.......Metro City of NYC came into Saw Creek.....it is not taken care of. Pot holes everywhere. Going down hill very fast, and homes are just given away there for any price. Please, check with others.......but, my opinion from the Newspapers etc. Not good.
The Hideout you will like the woods, pool.......all of that.
Maybe you would like Towamensing Trails and there is a local realtor under Albrightsville, Pa that has a ton of rentals listed on line. Pool, Lake, restaurant on site right in that development. From there you could travel down right on I think its 903 toward Jim Thorpe. You can go to Nicks lake house on the lake for good food this would be at Harmony Lake.......go in the back entrance off of 903 I think it is, joff of 115 ( no need to go in the front and more out of the way).. There is some cute little breakfast places along the way into Lake Harmony.....Nicks has a full glass room looking at the lake and a big deck. We held a shower there once and it was just wonderful.
The new casino is not up as yet.......so you mean the casino in Pocono Downs. That would be about an hour or so from where you might stay, but....you'd probably like the ride. Lake Harmony would be good for you too....you are close to the Bear Creek Cafe, Nicks, Split Rock has a restaurant...a few others in there like Shenanagins, Piggy's for ice cream and homemade breakfasts.........You can PM me for more info if you need any other advice.......HOPing this helps.

Default Upps.........

Just a little post note
Bushkill is at one end of of your wishes........
and Jim Thorpe at the other..........
These will not be extremely close......
And adding Pocono Downs.........then another direction altogether.
I think your middle point......is probably.....harmony lake or Towamensing Tr.
This would leave only Buskill as your farthest point....
Wondering how others feel about this, I'll stop back later.........

Oh you are one lucky lady dorothy.........
People are not happy there......( Saw C)
Its a mess.........real city..........and the homes.......they just sell for nothing at all because of it.......My own opinion here........but, I read the news everyday and I have lived this way in NE Pa for 13 years ( parents were longer)
A nice happy rental would be in Lake Harmony, or Towamensing Trails.......this is just my opinion as having gone to both a lot.
The Maryenck realty....has listings under her rental area.....hope this helps you........ Just her name with realty.com

Default saw creek estates

Hello, Was just wondering if I should stay away from Saw Creek Estates? Is it better there as of late? Looking to move to the area but want peace and quiet and a good educational district. Can anyone please direct me on what area I should look into. Also I will be communiting to NYC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Hey DSNY I live in Saw creek and I love it there but you need to do your home work .You should try and stay there for a couple of days and see if you like it .I read alot of things about about the place and I laugh because most of them are not true (Pot holes and not taken care of )Most of the roads are newly paved and there always upgrading something ..Also DSNY Do you work for the the Dept of Sanitation ?I also work for the Sanitaion dept, communiting is not that bad from there .

The houses in Saw Creek are SO affordable.. I stayed there a couple of years ago.. Why shouldnt I buy there?? I live in the city, so I am not afraid of some 'city folks' living around me.. are there any REAL quality of life issues I am missing?

House's all over P.A have become So affordable. When it comes to Saw Creek you need to do your home work and stay around there for a couple of days .I have lived there for a couple of years and have been very happy there .But that being said you need to see if you will be happy there .You can not always go by what people say on these boards because i've seen lots of Negetive post about Saw Creek which just are not true or have been made by someone who has not been in there in years or who have never been in there.Feel free to P.M me if there is any question about Saw Creek I may be able to anwser.
