My name is Leo Pietkiewicz uncle of Bernice Policastro, brother of Clair Policastro.
My parents were Vincent Pietkiewicz and Stella Pietkiewicz
We lived at 228 W. Lloyd Street in a three story house. l remember our telephone number was 224.
The lower level was used as a Polish Newspaper Business that my father and brother Henry operated.
I was born in 1925 and lived in Shenandoah until l was almost 16 years old.
My brother Clement enlisted in the Air Force in 1939, l enlisted in the Navy in 1943, my oldest brother Henry joined the US Army in 1944.
We all returned home safe and without any injuries.
After my 3 year hitch in the Navy, l became a member of the crew on Navy Troop Transports out of Brooklyn NY and San Francisco CA for approx 9 years.
I married in 1956 and had 4 children. My eldest son Michael passed away at the age of 34.
I worked at the Naval Shipyard in San Francisco and later at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a Programmer on Main Frame Computers at both Shipyards. We had the Univac File Computer at San Francisco and an IBM 702 and a Honeywell 6060 at Mare Island. We designed the first Data Base Program on the Honeywell 6060 for all the Naval Shipyards in 1975.
My good health allows me to play tennis doubles 4 to 5 times a week.
I'm a long time resident of Walnut Creek, CA
My hobbies: Ex dancer, West Coast Swing, all Latin Dancing including Salsa, Photography, PhotoShop CS4, Photo Restorations. PC Help.
My son Steve is Vice President and General Manager of Linear Tech in Silicon Valley. He is also an accomplished Jazz and Classical Pianist.
We spend a lot of time in Pine Mountain Lake near Yosemity Valley.
My favorite tennis player is Andy Roddick who just today lost to Roger Federer in the 5th set in the finals at Wimbledon 12 to 14, no tiebreaks.
