I have looked on MLS and there aren't a lot of rentals to choose from. Any other ideas on ways to find rentals that aren't listed with realtors? Any advice on where to live would be appreciated. I am not really a city dweller, I have always been more of a suburbanite.

Thanks!

There's another thread on here where someone is looking to rent their house. Maybe you could hook up with them?...

Craigslist might be another good option.

I second Classifieds 570 and the driving around method.
When you drive around you also have the added benefit of seeing the area.
There are a lot of listings in today's papers if you don't have access to a computer.
Where do you want to live?
