Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to The Hideout within a year or so. I am currently in school pursuing my degree in Nursing. Can anyone provide some information on some of the local hospitals? Thanks so much!

there are two hospitals in the Scranton area and one near Wilkes-Barre. Of course if I knew the names of them that would be helpful. Sorry.

There are actually 3 hospitals in the city of Scranton, 4 if you count Allied. There's Wayne Memorial in Honesdale, which is about 20 minutes from The Hideout. And then there's Marian in Carbondale, which is about 30 minutes away. Hope the info helped.

Thanks NYRanger - do you know which hospitals have the better reputations?

Wayne Memorial is the closest to the Hideout,I believe. If you look at the photo tour of Honesdale, you can see a photo of it.

Wayne Memorial is pretty good. I think the best in Scranton is CMC (Community Medical Center). Always glad to help out. I used to live in The Hideout.

THere's also Mercy Hospital in Scranton, and I believe Moses-Taylor. Many family members have had good experiences at Mercy.

You're right about Mercy, Bagldot. They have a good cardiac program there with really good doctors. So i'm told by a friend of mine who was a patient there.

Thanks everyone! It's always good to hear from "real" people about what they think of their local hospitals.

You're welcome. I think you will like The Hideout. I liked it when I was there. It gets pretty hectic in the summer, with people from New York and New Jersey coming up. It's still quieter than in the city. Plus there's things to do there. Swimming, fishing in the lake, tennis courts, and skiing in the winter.
