I'm not sure how long ago or where (not in PA), I was in a Sams Club on Sunday evening just before they closed, and they were selling the last of the whole BBQ chickens they had for $1. If some stores had a policy like that, people would show up the last minute for deli items, and they'd make a few bucks.

Or lose some money as people that would have paid full price wait until they offer the discount. I'm surprised they would offer them for $1 for that reason alone, people are going to take advantage of situations like that.

I agree. I hate to see food wasted, too. Unfortunately, we don't set corporate policy. When I went to Catholic school, the nuns, (yes, it was so long ago I had nuns as teachers!) used to tell us that we'd burn in he!! for wasting food (or notebook paper). Corporate America should meet Sister Mary Aquinas!
