Well I just LOVE this place! I am a thrift store junkie to begin with but this store has got to be the best thrift store I have ever encountered.

Where else can you pick up Fiesta Ware for 60 cents a plate?

But wait, it gets better! I found a vintage black cocktail dress - with a sequined geometric design near the hem - it looks like some thing filched from the set of "Mad Men" - it still had the tags on it - from A&S (an old department store.) I wore it on our stay at home new years eave with a pair of back high heels and my husband did NOT complain.

But today was just the BEST for a lover of all things Mid Century modern- I hit gold today - we found a 1950s copper and metal (Ranford) canister set in great condition for way under the asking price on e- bay for a similar set.

I also found a 1956 pink dinner wear set by Taylor, Smith and Taylor - the whole set went for $24 ! I had never heard of them before today, either, but I looked them up and it was a find!

Any one else enjoy shopping at NEPA thrift stores?
I like The Salvation Army Store too, but for a second hand store they are a bit over priced.

Tell us about your finds!

ALSO any consignment shops in the area?

You should check out the consignment shops in Luzerne. I think you would really like them:

My Sisters Closet - My Teens Closet - Baby and Beyond - John's Consignment Shop - Main Street Luzerne Pa, 18709 (http://sistersteensandbeyond.com/newsite/ - broken link)

speaking of consignment shops.......in the Lehigh Valley, Target donates a lot of merchandise to Goodwill. Any idea where Target sends the stuff in WB and Scranton? It certainly isn't the Goodwill in Edwardsville

Where is Volunteers of America? (reminds me of a Jefferson Airplane song)
When we had a garage sale here in September, I took all the leftovers to Salvation Army on Kidder Street, we had a whole pickup truckload. I like to browse too, and if they have some cool old stuff for a good price, the more the better.
Down south in NC, it seems like "Goodwill" cornered the market, with nice stores and "drive-thru" drop off service, but the biggest isn't always the best for downline customers wanting to get the most for their buck.

Corner of South Main Street and Hazle Street, in the same shopping complex as the Family Dollar and Bank of America.

There is a new consignment boutique in Nanticoke on Market st. They sell men and women's clothing from American Eagle, Abercrombie, Hollister, Coach, Louis Vuitton...etc. Clean place with helpful staff. And the owner seems on hand all the time. Smells good too!!
