At least Wilkes-Barre exceeded the estimate, even if it did lose population. We weren't here yet when the census was taken, so it's at least 41,500.

Forest County in western PA, had the biggest population increase in the last 10 years, up 56%, Pike County came in second with a 23.9% increase with Monroe County rounding out the top 3, with a 22.5% increase in population over the last decade.

I'm just making a wild guess here, but I think Lehigh Valley Native might have been implying that somewhere near ABE had the highest growth. No?

Actually, most of the growth in the area has come from the exploding Hispanic population, which would actually mean (on the other hand) quite a significant exodus (or dying off) of the traditional families and makeup of the region. If you look at the figures, the Hispanic population of Luzerne County has gone up 479% in the past 10 years, and 261% in Lackawanna County.

Don't be sad 4Jersey......PA is growning in leaps and bounds. Ton's of license plates from NY and NJ come up to check out the area.
Most fall in love with its spaciousness. The mountains....homes not on top of each other. Many fall in love with the way lower taxes then NY and NJ.
There is so much to do here that keeps one busy.
People fall in love with the towns and shopping areas....the pricing of homes and the activities.
Then they arrive and get to enjoy it all. Lakes, skiing,outlets,water parks.
We're doing ok.
Many don't arrive with knowledge of the politics in the area, and for some its best not to know. Read up, vote for who you please....and if he doesn't do a good job...vote him out. And...round and round that circle goes.
