What was the old theater in downtown Scranton, the Ritz?

I remember seeing Splash there as a kid. Is it still around? Been too long...

Not sure what is in there now...there was some sort of Blues or Jazz restaurant there, not sure if that's still open. I think the last time I was at the Ritz was to see "A Christmas Story" when I was a kid.

Cinemark or Great Escape. I try to avoid Marquee.

Movies 14 since it's so close to home. Garden Drive In too. Berwick Theater offers late run (and second run) movies for cheap too. Oh and the Dietrick Theater in Tunkhannock is a beautiful old time movie house.

I've only been to the Movies 14 on Northampton. Very reasonably priced and well maintained.
Honestly, everything is less expensive and as good or better than in NY.

wATER, GROCERIES AND HAIRcuts are more $, so are pedis and manis. Sorry but check the prices...I do shop around for groceries now and have brought the bill down a lot. BUT, I Miss my Patmark and Meat farms, and that is all I miss on the shopping front. I am going to check out a real Butcher up near Dalton on Friday! Yes, movies are generally cheaper. The Imax is the same except for the one we went to in Manhattan and Philly I think.

What they have done in Tunkhannock with the Dietrick is just completely awesome. When I was home last year I went to it for the first time. I saw my parents' "brick" (lol) and had nice movie experience. Plus we walked to it. Real nice. I am very proud of what they are doing there.

I agree. We love going to Tunkhannock. It's really such a nice little town with plenty to do.

isn't this a thread about theaters? maybe they have a theater where you can get a manicure, while someone does your grocery shopping and butchers your meat while watching a movie, somewhere?
