I wish that was the truth! I just moved here (today, actually) thinking the same thing. I already have kids screaming at eachother (early teens), & has been jumping off my front step with his skateboard already. It's not even summer yet, so I'm getting a little concerned. My boyfriend is disabled, & we moved here because we were told it was a quiet neighborhood. It HAS been quiet, the few times were were in the house before actually moving in... so I'm crossing my fingers.

Just unsure of what to do in case this continues. I don't want to confront the kids, because I don't want to look forward to retaliation.

Thanks for your response! Any additional info would be appreciated =o)

Ok..kids shouldn't be using your PRIVATE steps for their entertainment, but if you are objecting to teens yelling at each other, unless it's the middle of the night....then I think you are asking too much. There isn't a noise ordinance in the country that would put a gag in a teen's mouth during daylight!

Default Noise in Honesdale

According to the police (July 2011) there is no noise ordinance in Honesdale. A friend recently called the police there because of some early morning demolition work going on before 7:00 a.m. The police told my friend "Sorry, there's nothing we can do about it. There is no ordinance". However, there may be a difference between "noise", and "disturbing the peace", so I suggest that you call the police to ask about your situation.

Since this thread is old, I'd like to take time out to recommend the upcoming Wayne County fair in Honesdale. Great food, fun, rides, and wonderful people, all at reasonable prices. Don't miss it.
