My extended family vacationed at Lake Wallenpaupack (White Beauty View Resort-which is no more) about 28 years ago. The kids from those days are now grown up with toddlers of their own and wanting to return to the area for a family reunion next summer. We are all over the country now..mostly east coast, but one in San Francisco. I'm in NC now, so it's not easy for me to preview the area before our get-together. We'll have 23 people (17 adults and 6 very young children) to accommodate. Does anyone have suggestions on where around the lake we should try to stay? We'd love to have a VERY large house or a couple houses very close together that we can rent for a week and have time to visit. I've found one place online so far, but I don't know the area well these days. Are there areas around the lake that would be better for activities with young children and/or better restaurant selections? Also, our relative flying in from SF, should she fly to Wilkes-Barre or Allentown or somewhere else? What are the driving times to the lake from those airports? Any help is most appreciated!!

There are many homes around the lakes in WLE for rent ; try Vacationrentalsbyowner.com.
Fly into Wilkes Barre ; its closer to the lake than Allentown.

Have fun

Try contacting a real estate office in the area. I have had good luck with using amateur when vacationing in other states. Just google for a local office, or pm me and I will try to help I don't live far from the lake and we do boat there, but I don't know neighborhoods or developements. Good luck.

I second Ehrhartdt's. Casual yet with beautiful tranquil views, it is appropriate for adults and children alike.

Thank you all for your feedback/suggestions. If anyone comes up with more to share, please post...we still have a fair amount of time to gather suggestions before we have to commit to a location for next summer.
