Stay safe everyone.

My mother just called me with the news. My parents live at an elevation of about 950' above sea level in Pittston Twp., and they are sheltering my aunt, uncle, and cousins who live just off Susquehanna Avenue in West Pittston. They are definitely going to get water in their basement, and if the latest projected crest of 40' holds true they may very well also have flooding in their first floor. My great aunt lives in the Belin Village section of Moosic along a creek, and thus far it is within its banks but she, too, may need sheltering. My sister and brother-in-law live in a low-lying part of Exeter near Hick's Creek and are also keeping a close eye on the situation.

They keep upping the projected crest. If it goes over 41' the entire Wyoming Valley will be flooded.

There is a new plum of hevy rain moving through the area that was unexpected and could send it even higher.

If your familiar with Tunkhannock, Gay's is already flooding and the Riverfront Park is underwater, expecting it to hit Main st by Friday.

Just leave, don't try to second guess this, Binghamton received over 9 inches of rain int he last 48hrs and its all going to be coming this way.

That is why the crest isn't until Tomorrow night.

Oh man, after the flooding out here seeing the Wyoming Valley going through this is completely breaking my heart. Please stay safe everyone - for new residents if you're not sure if you're in the Agnes flood plain, please ask a neighbor.

Can any longtime residents post what the Agnes flooded areas were for any newer residents?

If anyone is curious, check out what your neighbors to the south are dealing with. It might also tell you what additional rain is coming your way.

Go to wgal.com

The pictures really look like Agnes in 1972....some of them worse.

How much of Tunkhannock is flooded? all along 6/29? Or further up the hill towards the high school/McDonalds?

Gays is flooded up to the ceiling of the first floor and Dietrich theater is flooding, it is completely cut-off, rt6, 29, 92 is all flooded in one spot or another.

The gauge in Meshoppen has a set a all time record level of 44.11ft at 374,000kcfs which is the highest recorded level on the Susquehanna river in the history of Wyoming county.

Wow. I hope everyone is okay. I can't get ahold of my parents or my brother. A little nervous. I bet Meshoppen is basically a lake, the ballpark area was always dangerously close to flooding pretty much all year round.

Thanks for the update and keep the info coming.
