Unhappy Don Tomaso's pizza closed

Anyone know why Don Tomaso's pizza in Scranton, closed on 8-31-07? I thought they did reall well? They were near the high school, the Ice Box skating rink, they had motorcycle night..............always was busy when I went there. I hope it wasn't the mercantile tax of Scranton that drove them away, like the tax did sooo many other biz.

I didn't even know they closed. I had pizza there once and thought it was OK, not anything great.

God knows what happened, that building is a mess and the owner of the facility has been implicated in some missing money problems. It could be that they are the first of the rest closings and maybe the building will be shutting down, I'm just guessing.

The owner of Don Tomaso's was in a argument with Mr. Burke who owns the building over money. The owner of the building has been being investigated for missing funds from the HUD monies he received for the construction. He also owes the city of Scranton $600,000 and has not paid one dime of it and the city currently is not pressuring him because he is a friend and a contributor of the Mayor. This bill has been past due for about 3 years now and the city is not getting any $$$$. Don Tamso's left due to the argument over more money, the building is not doing that great and the owner is having a $$$ flow problem. Lets see how long it takes for the other business's to hit the bricks, we'll have to wait and see. Lets see what happens when the KOZ is over.
