Default Crime in an area

I'm not sure this is allowed but will try it anyway. One of the largest debates or arguments I have seen here is about crime. If a city or town has lots of crime or if it doesn't.
Why don't we put the arguing to rest and just use FBI statistics.

Crime rate comparison.

What a great website. Thanks so much for supplying it.

I was happy to see that my hometown of Selinsgrove rates a 2 in both categories, below the national average of 3.

Scranton rates pretty well. Wilkes-Barre is worse, but nowhere near as bad as Harrisburg, Reading, and Lancaster. I had no idea Lancaster was that bad...I always pictured it as a pretty nice, safe, conservative area with Amish buggies and covered bridges. I did pass through a not-so-nice neighborhood in Lancaster once, but I figured that all cities have their bad sections.

I guess our idea of high crime in NEPA isn't so bad after all.

Lancaster, the city proper is really bad. Once you are outside the city, it is filled with rolling farmlands with amish and mennonites and really is a great place to live.

Surprisingly Wilkes-Barre ranks about the same as Allentown for crime, which isn't good at all.
