Yes, but Jessup had the sense to call off St. Ubaldo for a while because of all the problems. And St. Ubaldo never had as many problems as the St Patrick's Day parade.
I hate it when people say the Irish are all brawlers and drinkers too. That's why I hate parade day for giving the Irish a black eye. I'm a drinker, but I'm not a drunk...can't remember the last time I was really drunk.

There has been a new thread started for this topic, please use it so as to not upset balance. I did post this once before but it was removed so please move the discussion about the parade to the parade thread.

I am not trying to sound preachy here like some, but if you let the actions of others dictate your emotions then you will most likly be a miserable person.
If you want to take your kids to the parade and have a good time then do it. There are plenty of areas onth the route you can sit and and have a fantastic time. I went to the parade every year and some years I was in the parade. As a nieve kid who didnt understand "drunk" i was never scared or put in a bad situation. Teach your children well.

Just so we understand one another. This parade is a huge factor in downtown living and has been for decades. Every single event that takes place in the downtown affects how the people there live. La Fiesta, Jaycees Santa parade, Steamtown marathon and the St. Patty's day parade are all in the downtown and therefore a direct influence on living there.

hello,
if you enjoy the parade as much as you say you have, there is the possibility of going to the parade. there are plenty of places to go to see the parade where its safe from all the dangers you are stating. i have gone to the parade plenty of times and have not drank because i wasnt 21 and wyoming avenue is COMPLETELY fine there is no one acting out like that as well as the mall. then i went straight to kellys restaurant in south side for wings with my family. it was crowded and people were drinking but it was still family friendly.
