First of all there are 2 Pocono Mountain Lake Estates...sections 1 through 4 (in Bushkill)and 5 through 8 which is furthur north. As a resident of PMLE 1-4 I can honestly say that our community is probably one of the BEST in all of the Pocono's with a low yearly dues (currently under $650 a year), packed with ammenitiies, and a very low crime rate ( we even have armed security guards not that we need them!). I looked around for over 9 months before I bought here and I would not want to live anywhere else!!! Hope this helps. Have a good day.

I lived in Sec 5A of PMLE It was real Nice ,, It was Many years ago The lake although small was LOADED with BASS ... There was less then 30 houses in that section at the time ,,But real Peaceful.

But 01 is a rough road no matter what the season.. the deer run right into the vehicle...

Just my 2 cents

First of all, there are 3 PMLE's: 1,2,3, & 4 PLME 5A, and PLME 4,5,& 7. Section 4,5, & 6. All are seperate. Has the lowest dues, but no ammenities and no armed guards. We do not need them. It's great, not many homes, I would not live anywhere else.

Prices are so depressed I'm considering a house in Pocono Mountain Lake Estates section 567 (which I have yet to see in person). Even without crime concerns I wouldn't consider sections 1-4 because they're that much farther from NYC. Still, I wonder - is 567 considered a little more upscale than sections 1-4 despite the lack of amenities? (Some people like that since it may be less of a kid-magnet, and because of the commensurately lower dues.) I've owned houses in Traces of Lattimore, Hemlock Farms and the Pocono Mountain Water Forest and the near-Bushkill region is an area I've never had reason to visit.

I am looking for a vacation house in the Pocono area. Is Pocono Mountain Lake Estates more of a vacation community or a full time residential community?

Thank you
Must you be in the Poconos with all the folks from Brooklyn and Joisey? You might consider a lake community closer to Montgomery County, such as Lake Wynonah in Schuylkill County. Lake Wynonah - Home

Or Towamensing Trails in Carbon County. Up high on a plateau, usually 8-10 degrees cooler than Philadelphia area....Contact me if you'd like some referrals

Lived in PMLE 1,2,3, & 4for 6 yrs. Quiet, talked to neighbors from time to time. No crime that i'm aware of or has effected me so far. And far enough from pine ridge that no one is walking to come bother anyone they'd have to drive. Seems to be equal distance to Milford or East Stroudsburg for shopping, tho w/ shopping comes traffic anyway.

Default Stay out of Pocono Mountain Lakes Estates 5,6, & 7

The roads are very bad they will not fix any pot holes.

There were 14 houses robbed between march through may of 2013.

When it snows They do not plow the roads the right way.

I know I have been living there for a few years and can't wait to move the hell out when my lease is up.

Granted most of the people who live there seem to be very nice.
