Elderly couple bound in Bear Creek home invasion - Wilkes-Barre, news, sports, obituaries, and classifieds for Luzerne County and Scranton | The Times Leader, Wilkes-Barre, Scranton PA - www.timesleader.com

Why is crime spiking in the area? This is where I grew up, and it's pretty much unheard of for the area. Every time I check news from "home" there is more and more violent crime in the headlines. What's the story?

Welcome to the new Poconos...obviously you've been away for far too long...a lot of tri-state area welfare cheats, drug-dealers and users, section 8 abusers, have moved into the area severely damaging the good reputation the Poconos once had...need more proof:

Drunkin Donut's isn't even safe from the useless ghetto garbage that has moved here from the tri-state big citie's...be glad your not living here anymore...them along with the economic slump we're in have driven down real estate values so much that homes aren't worth the land they sit on...check other posts on here for more information...

Gotta love the garbage that has been moving out here from the big cities!! The very thing I left the Big Apple for are now present in what was once a nice and tranquil countryside...time to invoke the 2nd amendment right to bear arms!!
