No, i don't watch super bowl. Scranton is a mess, everywhere you go, there's tons of mexicans, on food stamps, with their expensive designer clothes, cell phones, etc. It's getting out of control and nauseating. Why the food stamps, if they are running around with expensive cell phones?

You people have got to be kidding me, right? "Scranton is going nowhere fast?" "There's tons of Mexicans, and they're all on food stamps?" Have you been to cities like Hazleton, Allentown, Reading, Lebanon, Lancaster, etc. lately? If you think the Electric City has issues with social regression and illegal immigration, then you haven't obviously left Scranton much to view the rest of the state. Scranton is FAR ahead of its peers in terms of progress, and when the commuter rail link to North Jersey/NYC is established we'll be even more attractive for more NYC/NJ transplants to rush in and boost the tax base.

I am one of those ny/nj transplants you mentioned SWB, i was a homeowner in NP area for 17 years. You don't think illegals are a problem here? You must not leave Scranton much if you think they are far ahead in terms of progress. Open your eyes.

You come from NY/NJ and you think we have an illegal immigrant problem? Lets be honest, Scranton and all of NE PA is pretty much lily-white compared to both NYC and NJ. Do you assume that we have a widespread illegal immigrant problem just because we have some more people of Hispanic descent than we used to have? How do you know they are illegal? Are you assuming they are just by their skin tone or accent?
And if you hate it here so much, nobody is keeping you here against your will. Feel free to leave. Its a free country.

Pretty soon you'll have a Wal-Mart supercenter very close to your house. You live on St Ann's Street, right? Just down Main Ave from you, across the street from Price Chopper, they are leveling out that huge lot to build a new Wal-Mart.
I'm just glad I won't have to fight the Dickson City traffic soon to be able to go to Wal-Mart.
