Oh, I agree with you Co, that's why the young people today can't get anywhere.
Whatever happened to hard work and getting your hands dirty? Nobody wants to do that here. Tisk tisk.

MrKrabs, pizza here is horrible, but no big deal, there are a few places where you can get good pizza, and Jersey is a short drive. Again, i shouldn't have to move, i'm a citizen here, have been since the day i've been born. I lived in Germany for 2 yrs, when my husband was in the Army, i didn't expect the Germans to bow down to me and learn my language, i did my best to learn theirs and i respected their country. I'm just sick of them coming here, whether it is NYC, Jersey, Tennessee, and expecting us to roll out the red carpet for them. If you people can't see it, then you're blind.

I'll GLADLY roll out the red carpet for ANY New Yorker or New Jerseyan who wishes to move to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and help boost our tax base and bring fresh ideas to help improve our quality-of-life. Our population has been nosediving for many decades (which has just reversed in the past 2-3 years), so ANY newcomer should be WELCOMED to help rebuild the region! Unfortunately the only ones on this forum moving to NEPA seem to be moving to the Poconos; apparently Scranton/Wilkes-Barre has b.o. or cooties in the eyes of the transplants.

sues1...you need to look in your profile and read all your comments that you have made on this forum. Everything has a negative tone, if not worse. You need to see the picture you are portraying of yourself. You are condemning everything.
We get it...you hate Old Forge Pizza, and seemed to have some very racist views, although you don't think so.
This forum is for people to share their knowledge of the areas they know about, or for those seeking knowledge. We all try to do this in a positive way. We try to help each other.

Scranton. Most of our clientele at my former employer that drove in to Wilkes-Barre from the Poconos did nothing but b*tch about the "long drive" to me. I myself don't like driving everywhere all the time, so it's only natural that I've chosen to settle in the immediate SWB area.

I LOVE PA... Just because i have a problem with Mexicans on gov't assistance for them and the 5 & 6 kids they keep having and not liking Old Forge pizza does not make me a racist. I stated my opinion to the gentleman who was looking to move here and that was it.

Not liking Old Forge Pizza does NOT make you a racist...I agree.
By the way, I don't like Old Forge Pizza either!
Having problems with Mexicans on public assistance while not mentioning any of the other races on public assistance surely makes you sound like a racist. It is no secret that the Scranton area is predominantly white, with many of them on public assistance. Singling out the few Mexicans in our area (Yes, I said few) says you have a problem with more than just those on public assistance.
You stated your opinion to the gentleman who was looking to move her and THAT IS IT?? Read your posts again dear, that really isn't IT. Your posts are not in the nature of inquiring information or giving out helpful, fact-based information.

I don't know where you live, but there are more than a "few" mexicans in Scranton. Scranton is not predominantly white, maybe they used to be, but not now. I don't have problems with people on public assistance, we all need help at times. What i have a problem with is the people, whether it be white, black, yellow, whatever color or race making assistance a life style, why do they continue to have child after child if they need help from the gov't raising these kids? In case you haven't noticed, Mexicans are all over Scranton, try going to the laundramat sometime, you sit there and wonder what country you're in. They don't speak English, if they want to be here so bad, they need to take English courses and adapt to the English language, i shouldn't have to call a business and be told if i want English to press 1. Do you honestly think if you or i moved to Mexico they would cater to us? I hardly think so. I am sick of it, and i'm not the only one. They want to live in America, fine, do it the right way, make sure you're legal, learn our language and if you want to keep having babies, then don't expect the taxpayers of this country to support you. For future reference, please do not call me "dear."
