I was born and raised in Monroeville, PA outside of Pittsburgh (GO STEELERS!!!) then went to high school in Denton, TX. Since then I've lived in Kansas City, MO; Hagerstown, MD; Bridgeport, WV and now back to PA. (Dingmans Ferry). I'm only 29 so needless to say I'm freaking tired of moving! Think we're done now for a while though. (fingers crossed)

Great Place...Sunny, you should come up and visit, you would love it here...
Oh I miss it already..........We go out in the boat on Beltzville Lake and find a wonderful cove, one of those many fingers of the lake. We jump off the boat into that wonderful clear water and swim.
There is a hidden waterfall that the kids hike too from the boat.
But, beware..........don't move a rock as you sit at its pooled base.
A snake came out and bit one of the boys.........
That made for a 911 call and the end to such a fun filled day.
( ps....the snake was harmless, and it made just a small bite....not
the kind to worry about ......)

One warm sunny fall day, we were driving along the back roads of Beltzville....I remember the graveled roads were red...yes, red gravel. In all my years, hunting, fishing, and working contruction in NE PA, I have seen my share of snakes. (We were night fishing once, with my cousin and her husband, and my husband said, we will see a snake swim up to us, before the night is through....they said why? He answered, because Creme always draws them out for some reason) and I do????? Anyway....
I had heard so many stories about the northeastern rattlers, that they can even grow larger then the diamondbacks of Texas. Well, low and behold..there in front of our truck, sprawled across the road, was a Northeastern rattler...and it's tail was a rattlin....I wanted to get out and look closer, as I forgot all my fear..and my husband wouldn't let me. It was an experience....

Another time, and this I promise is true...I was driving back to an area that I had lived a long long time ago, deep in the woods....but it had changed so much, that I could no longer find the road that I lived on...and I must have gone back and forth and turned around again and again, at least 3 times...the last time, there was a huge stick laying across the road, that wasn't there before??? But I was so concentrating on finding the road to turn on, worried about cars coming up behind me, that the vision of this huge stick didn't phase me....I drove over it and heard the two thumbs of both front and rear tires hitting it...well, I looked in my rear view mirror, and this huge stick was jumping up and down....and when I say huge, it streatched across a two lane road...it was a big black snake.

My oh my, when I think about how wonderful nature has been, and the splendid experiences I've had...it's been an incredible life...to see and experience so many fantastic sights and sounds...I'm very lucky...

I started the thread and never said where I'm from. Grew up in Scarsdale NY, went to college at SUNY Oneonta and loved the country life. Got married, moved to Mahopac NY and hated it, so we moved here in 2001. So far so good!
