PA is a marvelous state.

builder's wife here-
I was born in Wilkes-Barre and after Agnus in '72 our family moved to Thornhurst. Then moved to Effort near Kunkletown when I met builder4thepeople. Being a local is a BIG DEAL there, but I found the locals to be the most warm hearted and welcoming I'd ever met. It helped that hubby is a local, though. I also love the fact that I live in a private country setting, yet everything I need is within a reasonable distance.

Oh boy, nice to hear from you...Kunkletown was my home, we owned a lakefront home in Weir Lake...I sadly, moved back home 12 years ago...closer to work, as I'm now self supporting. But I miss greatly, the locals and friends I met while residing in the Poconos for 20 years...then, we had to drive to Stroudsburg for groceries. It was great...Pleasant Valley High School was a tremendous school, and I went were members then, of the Luthern Church which is on the right hand side, coming into Brodheadsville from Saylorsburg.
Havent' been back...it was a nasty divorce...and our home on the lake was a heartbreaking loss...I miss it and that community a great deal.
I would love to come back...but futher away from people...perhaps one day soon?
Extremely miss the West End Fair...
That area was a God sent Home.
Hugs

Quarry?
You know, I've been asked this question on more than one occasion and, to be honest, I never knew a quarry existed in Danville? Don't know where it was, but my guess is if I haven't seen or read anything about it in the 16 years I've been here, then it's not around.
Do you have any more information about it, that I might ask around about it to some of the older folks on my street?
Thanks,
Cathy

Creme, I am about 2 minutes from your wonderful Weir Lake.
We went to the West End Fair four times this year.
I do love having Shop Rite A(A Kinsleys) and Mr Z's right here. Can't complain about that. But, this is about as remote as I want really........I have to be able to get to active places in a reasonable time.

Hello, so nice to meet you...and talk to you, thanks....When I lived there, Mr. Z's wasn't there, and neither was Shop Rite or Kinsleys...and I loved it remote. I love people, but not a lot of them around me...LOL...and it was good times...memorable friends and a nice way for my son to grow up. I grew up that way, and that is why I bought a home there. We completely remodeled it...
The experiences were a once in a lifetime happiness...we went to Beltzville, spent a lot of time in Albrightville...hunting...fishing on the Delaware, camping...and my son loved to ski.
I hope you and your family find as much happiness there as we did. Years ago, when my son was young, he and his buddy, Pete, used to crawl under the fence to get into the West End Fair...it was completely different then.
Oh, and Stroudmoor, and a great resturant, The Meadowbrook....the candle shop on 611, and many many other great places there. Oh, Snydersville Diner...LOL...
thanks for the warm memories.
