Finding it very hard to make friends in the area unfortunately.
It seems since I didn't attend high school here in PA, "I don't belong."
I am new to this forum and hope to be able to communicate although it doesn't make up for face to face contact.
Ernestine,
Don't feel bad, even some of the people that are transplants are not friendly. Born in the Village, Yes, NYC - Bronx until I was 6. 7-35 Rockland County (would go back in heartbeat) Pike County during summers for over 18 years. Resident for the last 6 years...........

I must have wanderlust. Born and raised on Long Island, moved to north/central California. I did a short, 1-1/2 year stint in L.A. and at another time, one year in Florida. Each time, moving back to my town of Felton, California. A job lay-off pretty much forced me to move away, so I moved to Reno, NV, thinking I'd find work there (yeah, right) and because it's still close to CA. Stayed there two months and then back to CA to find a home while 9-11 happened, so I picked up and moved closer to my family here in the east. Yikes, I've been in this area for almost 6 and a half years now. I miss living in CA and wish I could move back, but I am not in a position to. I think I should point out...if you happen to live in CA, DON'T sell your house to move out of state if you think there is a possibility of moving back one day.

TERMINOLOGY is on a distinguished road
So what does this tell us. According to the poll, 70% of the NEPA sub forum users are from out of the area. 55% are from out of state. How would this relate to the populations of NEPA in general?
