Where are you from?
Just curious how many of us have been here in PA from the beginning or are 'transplants' and where everyone is drawn in from!

I'm a Luzerne Countian born and raised (for better or worse! LOL!) I plan to move to Lackawanna County in the next few years because it feels as if our neighbors to the north have a better grasp on revitalization efforts, and I look forward to becoming an active member in my new neighborhood.

I was born in Queens N.Y., but moved to Long Island when I got married in 1982. My husband and I always knew we didn't belong on L.I. but just didn't know where to go! My parents retired here in 1993 and we fell in love with the area and followed them a year later. My Dad was brorn and raised in Swoyersville, so it was like coming home for him. So you see...I have more roots here than most of the locals!

I lived in Denville, New Jersey most of my life. Then Northern New Jersey.........
My Brother came here in the late 70's. My Parents in the early 80's and I came in 1995.
I loved the land, the mountains, and the spaciousness of it all. Plus, there is just so much to do, I can't fit it all in.

I was born and raised in Southeastern PA...lived in Kunkletown, PA for over 20 years, also lived in Allentown and Bethlehem and almost bought a farm in upstate PA. I love this state....it's so close to everything...and yet, there are areas that are still wide open wilderness and mountains....
I've also lived in Florida, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas. But only for short periods of time.
PA is a marvelous state.

Nj
OK, I'll admit I'm born and raised in NJ - Essex County.... However....
My mother is from Jessup and Lake Ariel, one of 10 children. My father is from Hamlin, one of 12 - so the area is like my second home. I have 35 first cousins on one side alone. I spent many a summer in Hamlin, Ledgedale area, and although relatives are passing, there's still many left and the family farm is still in tact for the most part.
My parents moved to Jersey in the '50's looking for work and moved back to Ledgedale in '84. We plan to follow as soon as we can, dependent upon the college plans of our youngest. Could be next year - could be longer. Sigh. In any event, it's not soon enough.

<<< Also born & raised in Essex county, NJ (small world, huh?). Lived in Wayne, NJ and Vernon, NJ before here. At least I took some time to adjust to the climate changes...lol...
BIG difference from each area. Even from Vernon to here is a difference and Vernon is rural for NJ.

Well, my husband and I were both born and raised on Long Island (same town, no less). Looking forward to the day we will call NEPA our home.
