If you take 78 skip 33 and go to 476. You'll surely get traffic on 33 and you'll end up on 80 right smack in the middle of the Tannersville outlet (The Crossings) traffic. 476 will put you significantly farther west on 80 than 33 will. No major overpasses on either. The Turnpike (476) does have a tunnel through the mountains.

Thanks, John. That's helpful. And I'm not worried about toll fees. A few dollars is worth avoiding traffic jams and big overpasses.

There's a pretty high overpass over the Lehigh River right after the Lehigh Tunnel, but as long as you keep your eye on the road, you shouldn't have any issues. Plus it's a two lane highway, so it's wider and not as scary. My mother can make it over without issue, and she has a horrible fear of heights, so you should be fine.

Don't be scared. They really don't take as long to get over as they look like they would in the picture, so you'll be over them in a jiffy.

Thank you. It looks narrow. Is it single lane each way?

I actually love the idea of taking the train, but I'm afraid there wouldn't be poo facilities for my dog. :-)
