I'm trying to help my father-in-law sell his house in Tunkhannock, PA. I put an ad on Craig's List and got one bite.

I heard a story of someone from around here that put an ad on a Craigslist site in Philly and had success from people wanting to relocate.

My question: What areas should I post in to find people that may want to relocate to this small town living in NEPA?

i'm with ffwife, some NJ folks dreadfully desire to escape the corrupt politicians and dirty water. i was to Tunkhannock for the first time last month and fell in love with its country town ambiance. good luck with that.

Well they won't escape corrupt politicians by coming to NE PA...but they will escape the traffic, pollution, and dirty water.

Its about 95% white, but I don't remember there being any racial problems and personally knew several hispanic, black and asian familiies who loved it there.

I grew up in a small town Mountaintop from 1964-94 and it was great, but got progressively worse as real estate agents and builders ruined it, mowed down 1000's of acres, cashed in on the housing bubble, and split town with the loot- what we got, the traffic, overcrowded schools, re-assessed to highest taxes, jammed roads, and loss of privacy, noise, less jobs because more competition, and our kids in schools that don't learn because now they're overcrowded. Now I look back at Mt. Top and would not want to live there, I live about 12 miles away from it

the Craigslist hits are mostly house flippers lowballing offers to make a profit, I put my house up and got 3 hits, but always they wanted it for 1/2 price

And in another thread here, you just posted this

So you're insulted when you get a low ball offer, but you recommend that buyers do just that. Can't figure you out.
