Default Halloween Happenings in Pocono Mtns.

Halloween Happening Halloween Happenings at Monroe
October 11, 2007

BOO! And Happy Halloween from the Monroe Campus, which will host a family-oriented fall festival/Halloween happening for the community from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28.

Nine student clubs are working together to plan activities that will be fun for all ages. Children under 13 will have an opportunity to enjoy a dinosaur egg dig, a haunting witch activity, face- and pumpkin-painting, and games such as pin the nose on the pumpkin and costume relay races with a chance to win prizes.

Scarier fare will be on tap for teens and adults as students transform part of the campus into a "Haunted Campus." Although there will be no touching allowed, live actors may give participants a fright in a storyline related to the building's origins as a sewing factory. Parental permission will be required for teens under 17.

Admission to the "Haunted Campus" will be $7 per person, $5 for NCC students, faculty, and staff with ID, and $3 for advance ticket purchases for students, faculty, and staff. Tickets for the children's games and activites will be 50 cents apiece. Proceeds will benefit the student endowment for the new campus.

The Monroe Campus is located on Old Mill Road in Tannersville. For directions, go to www.northampton.edu

The student clubs who are sponsoring the festival are Student Governance, the Film Society, the Communications Club, LGBT & Allies, Christian Fellowship, the Education Association, the Poetry Club, the Science Club, and the Monroe chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honorary society.
