Summering!
I understood everything you and Molly wrote in Portuguese! Very nice!!! But Portuguese sometimes is a little difficult for people who don't speak! We have a lot of verb tenses...But English is my passion! I really love to speak! Sometimes I don't know how to write very well and to use the vocabulary, but I understand almost everything when someone is talking! So, sorry if sometimes I write wrong things!!! But I think I won't have problems in the end of the year!! =D

Like I already said, I was just worried about how we're gonna go to town, groceries, restaurants, and everything we'll need...But route 611 has everything, right??? =) But we can just go to Pizza Hut, stores, library by car? Is there easy public transportation?

And in our day offs we want to visit other towns around there! I want to go to NY, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington...LOL! Ok ok, I'm dreaming a lot, but I hope I can realize this trips!!!

We're gonna live in Village at Camelback...hope we get Internet there!

Bye-bye!

Pocono Pony, Monroe County Transportation Authority OK I think there is now.........If I am not mistaken the area wanted some local bus routes and this is what we have now.
the Pocono Pony.........You and Ise had best copy and take these routes with you and times. I have no idea at all how reliable they are.
ANYONE?
This route you would catch by the outlet mall and it will take you south and north on 611...........
I have to look at it a bit better but........I see it would get you to the Stroudsburg Mall. Which is a small Mall really, but its fun and has foods and clothes, books etc. Festive at Christmas.
You still have the problem of getting up and down that hill.........that still is a daunting task. Martz bus line..........a Main bus line out of Tannersville and Stroudsburg ( large bus station in Delaware Water Gap)........
That bus will take you directly to NYC ( take express for faster)
It has "some" trips to Philly.........not as many check the schedule.
You'd probably have to catch a bus at the NYC Port of Authority Building to get to Boston or Washington.
OR the AMTRAC train to either one,( Boston or Washington) in that case you'd have to have some way to get to the train station.
Have to go do a sewing project now..........but, there is some things to check out........

Summering!
Thank you for the suggestion...I'll take a look at the Pocono Pony!
I'm a little bit worried about transportation...Maybe buy a car is a good ideia...but I don't know how much it costs and how much we'll pay to put gasoline every time we need! Rent a car is another ideia...but I think just 21 years old can rent, right? And we're just 20!

Hey, getting up and down from the hill is that difficult? So far? Or it's because the cold?

Oh, and malls are my passion too! I think I'll love the Outlets! I have to take care or my salary will desappear!

Well, for something oldish and just for local transportation you'd probably spend
1,500 ( One thousand five hundred) But, then you need insurance also and that might be a few hundred. It would need plates ,and registration, that is not costly. I say 1,500 but there may be something less, or a bit more.....but, for just a short term car you should not spend a hefty amount. Gas right now is almost $4.00 per gal. We are all so unhappy about that. It was not so long ago, we complained about 1.50 per gal. It was running in the high 2.80's per gal. Now.............crazy..............its going out of control.
I have found with the kids that most did not want to rent unless they were 25.
I did get an Enterprise to rent to them in Florida as long as they were a certain age, of which I am not remembering (LOL)....it was a bit younger. Renting is way too expensive for you anyhow. You might not want to do that. It is a few hundred a week! For that you can buy something ,and sell it before you go home to recoop your money.
My thinking for you is to use the bus and even a taxi until you meet the other workers there. Many, many of them will probably offer to take you down the hill.
Pretty far, yeah..........and pretty cold too.
Your favorite Mall if you can get there would be the Lehigh Mall and the Rockaway Mall.
The later being in New Jersey. But, both are about an hour away from your location.
Lehigh Mall at Christmas time is just wonderful. Music and decorations..........
You'd like it.
My husband is good at knowing if a car is good or bad news, if you need help in the soundness of a car. You HAVE to have decent tires for the mountain, that is a big must......Mother Summering.......LOL
PS wonder if Ise got the pictures of the girls I sent her?
Our pups are on the dog thread, under "family dogs, and dog stories".........

Heeey! My USA Mom!!!
Great idea of creating a new space only for us... to stop disturbing Molly and others who wants to know about other things aside from brazil... lol

About the portuguese, yes, it was very nice!
We can understand everything!

Hum, about buying a car I am not sure now it's a very good idea... people told me a car in USA would be around 600 USD (six hundreds) only! And I want to keep all money I can, couse I have to pay the trip back for my brother and sister, they are paying for me! If my parents were lending me, I'm sure they would, in the end, give it to me as a gift.! But, my siblings will want the money! LOL and as soon as posible! And yeah, just like Line, shopping WILL be a problem... LOL every girl loves to shop!

Sorry I didn't answer before... I was to busy to enter internet with papers for college before and then yesturday there was no electricity! A big storm made a lot of trees fall, and some of it hit cars, houses and the... well... the electricity lines that brings electricity to the houses! LOL I do hope my english will get better while I'm there

Mom, your family is so beautiful! Your daughters are very pretty and the twins... they are the cuttest things!!! The dog is very nice! What is it called again? I love dogs and cats just like I love horses, I guess I already mentioned I'm studying to be a veterinarian, right?

Hi Karen!
That's nice! May I ask in which city did she live in?
We (me and Line) are from Curitiba, in Paraná
Hey, if she misses very much something from Brazil we can bring it to her when we go there!

Both of us are working at camelback! I'm going to be lift attendant/operator, Line is going to be working inside, as a Food service attendant... or something like this Maybe she'll be working with Laura!!!
