Building Bridges to hold first community event - News - Citizens' Voice

Quote:
Mix activities for all ages, picnic food and party music in an outdoor setting, add some nice spring weather and the result should be a great opportunity for people to have fun and get to know each other.
"I am so excited for Saturday," said the Rev. Shawn Walker, pastor of Wilkes-Barre's First Baptist Church and co-president of Building Bridges, which is having its first event this weekend.
So far the community has been supportive, with generous donations from area businesses and dozens of volunteers and local groups offering their assistance.
Even the weather should cooperate: the National Weather Service predicts Saturday will be sunny with a high of around 70 degrees.
This event starts at noon and runs until 6 on Saturday May 4th at Kirby Park. Come on out!

No can do. Granddaughter is receiving First Communion on Saturday and there's a party in her honor. That has to take priority. Hope there's a good turn-out but May is a busy month.

Question Kirby Park on this Saturday

I keep hearing about an event at Kirby park with a DJ, some kind of fund raiser on Saturday. Does anyone know anything about it or what it is?

It was a great event. There were over 2000 people in attendance. From what I hear, Building Bridges would like to make this a yearly event.
