Beautiful pictures, Summering! You guys really got hammered out there! We only had about 4.5 inches at my home near Pittston, and there's only about an inch more still on the ground. We had slightly more here than in Wilkes-Barre, which looked like it might have only had about 2 inches. By now the snow is all melted down on campus.

At my new home...
in Lake Ariel (Jefferson Heights) I measured 11 inches! I guess you all are right...I will be seeing more of the white stuff being up so high!!
Closed on my home today...as I got to the house I plowed through the driveway and had to wait for the realtor to let me in through the garage door. My snow boots, along with the matching parka are tucked ever-so-lovingly in the back of the &*(%#*% moving van!! And of course I don't have my fold-down shovel in my car yet!!
All I'm stuck with is a pair of open-back mules...definitely not for truckin' through snow! I hope this all melts away so my tootsies don't get wet while unloading my stuff next week!
But the view with the crisp layer of white surrounding my home was lovely! While we didn't have a whole lot of autumn, I think we'll have quite a bit of winter!

cathyde...Congratulations! I'm sure you are loving your new neighborhood! Isn't the view just beautiful? If you drive all the way back in the development, the view is breath taking. Those houses in the back...they really have a view! Well, you see what I mean about snow in your area! Don't worry...you'll get used to it, and you are so close to Dunmore, right over the mountain to Price Chopper.
I hope we are neighbors some day! And don't feel bad, I had to dig out boots too and haven't even really worn a winter coat yet, mostly just hand out in the back seat of my car!

I think they are speaking of Lake Ariel....Everyone seems very happy there.
Watch what area you move back too. This area is not the same at all from the 1970's for that matter it is different from the 1990's.
It seems everyone loves Lake Ariel.......
And tomorrow we'll all be digging out of the snow. A big, storm is coming our way!
Speaking of the thread title............SNOW.

Well, here is some of my snow. Just only about 6 inches here in this lowland area. But, its a heavy snow and the trees were weighed down. The driveway had to be plowed. ILOVEPA, I remember that 1994 storm, I shoveled all that. Plus it snowed every single day that year. Shoveled my heart out!!!
Heres Summerings snow and a Santa we worked on during the storm.....
That was looking down half of the driveway........
The other half going down the drive........

The top, top, of the mountain...........and here is Santa coming soon.
Hand carved by hubby, painted by me.......one pulls logs.

He is made from a cypress knee found down south.........
Well, thats all the snow and Santa news this way.........trying to stay on topic........Snow and Santas are topic right???

Multi-talented family! All this snow will be non-existant when I get there for my seasonal family obligations.

Not necessarily. It's about to start snowing (errr..."slopping") again shortly. Somehow the air temperature will be 28 degrees for a HIGH tomorrow with "plain rain." How this isn't classified as "freezing rain" is beyond me though, as one would infer that liquid falling on a surface below freezing will freeze on contact, right?

All I know is...
my husband was happier than a pig in...well, you know what, because he got to break out his brandy dandy new behemoth snow thrower today and clear our driveway of the 4+ inches of snow here! I sure hope THAT doesn't get old too quickly!!
Meanwhile, I was thrilled that I didn't have to clean off snow on my car for the first time in over 15 years! I LOVE garages!! LOL!

Yes, hte garage is a true luxury!! You don't realize how much until you finally have one! I won't ever be without one ever again. It still amazes me the families I know who have so much crap in their garage that they can't park their car in it during the harsh winter months.
