Default Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here in Lake Ariel I woke up to a beautiful dusting on snow, there was probably as much as 2 inches on the decks and the trees were covered. It brightened up the whole house being so white outside.
And to think that 3 weeks ago it was 80 degrees!!

Default Moving in a week...

to Lake Ariel...

I guess I had better have the movers keep the shovels and snow thrower in the front of the moving van, for easy access!! LOL! My husband and I were told that area gets quite a bit more snow than the rest...true?

Not even a flake in Danville (unless you count some of my neighbors...LOL!)

Cathy

What a wonderful day this has been! My boyfriend just relocated to Bushkill Township in Pike County, so I had the pleasure today to drive from the Wyoming Valley on up to I-84 and then down Route 402 through varying elevations. At my home near Pittston last night we had mainly snow, but it was too warm too adhere to anything. The same appeared to be true right on up to the I-84/I-380 split in Roaring Brook Township, Lackawanna County, where my eyes lit up to see all of the trees coated in a nice layer of about a half-inch of snow! The beautiful scenes continued to around the Greentown exit of I-84, where it looked more like 1.5-2 inches of snow had fallen. I then got off Exit 30 and headed south on Route 402, a windy, narrow, rural two-lane artery that passes by Pecks Pond, and I was again treated to snow-covered limbs overhanging the roadway. Oddly enough I camew around one bend in the road and went from seeing a half-inch coating of snow on the trees to seeing nothing---the threshold elevation for the rain/snow mix was very sharply defined. I turned onto Bushkill Falls Road and was once again treated to some beautiful wintry scenes until I arrived at his new home near East Stroudsburg's North Campus. I then drove home by heading down towards Route 209, figuring I'd take that south to Stroudsburg and hop on I-80 West to I-380 North to get home. I was surprised to see another sharp division of no snow before I even reached the end of Bushkill Falls Road. My partner and I enjoyed a dinner last night at the Dansbury Depot in East Stroudsburg, and at that time it was mostly just raining. When we started to climb in elevation towards his home, it changed over to a heavy wet snow. We then headed back to my home, where it was a rain/snow mix.

I can now appreciate just how difficult it must be for meterologists around here to pinpoint snowfall total estimates!

ScrantonWilkesBarre, don't tell me you stopped in East STroudsburg at night?..... We have always loved the Dansbury Depot and have spent much time there in the past. The old train station is really such a cute place.
As usual, we in Brodheadsville, have no snow. Although I saw all the higher elevation snow on TV this morning.
I spend a lot of time convincing my NJ friends that this area is about the same at New Jersey. It is the Blakeslee, Mt Pocono area and other high elevations that get the majority of the snow storms.
People hear the word " Pocono", and we're all lumped as one central location....
But, I was looking forward to some snow.......and how beautiful it can be.
Guess I'd have to head up to Jack Frost Mt. with their snow makers going....
People can actually ski there today!!!! Not all the areas but some.
I must say that the Fred Clause movie put me in the spirit today.
It was great, and I love Vince Vaughn.........
I laughed and I cried, it was done very well.........So I did get to venture into a winter wonderland. But, it was only "live and in living color" on the big screen........

So Summering...the Fred Claus movie was good. I heard it wasn't good, but this was from some guy on the radio and a write-up in the newspaper. I love to see a Christmas Movie...

Wow, S/WB, you really covered some ground! And YES, it does tell you how differently the weather is in different towns, sometimes on different roads!

Cathyde...the area where you are moving gets more snow than the surrounding areas, that section of Mt. Cobb is always talked about when bad weather hits. Sometimes when it is only rain in Scranton and Hamlin, Mt Cobb will have sleet or snow. Have no fear, the roads are kept pretty decent here in the area you are moving to. And when its real bad, you just stay home or get home as soon as you can. You will LOVE it here!!! I promise!

This snow today was the knid that stuck to trees and decks and lawns but not the roads. It was very pretty. Looking forward to more...My husband, the truck driver would 'crown' me if he knew I said that!

Well, I'm such a Christmas lover that I just might be giving a better grade then most.
However, It was great........I think. Different. Something to think about.....there were lessons in the movie. I must say both my husband and I had tears on two occasions....and we both laughed and chuckled in other spots. I like a movie that has all kinds of emotions in it. I liked how they did the music. I loved, loved Vince in this......he was perfect. All the others fit their parts also. It really had some great lessons, some funny lessons........and .........Oh I love, the shots of the sleigh in action. Vince, trying to walk along roofs, and going down chimineys.........hysterical. ( I really don't laugh at most funny movies, I find them to be just scripts of words).........This movie was funny.
Something I rarely say.
Of course I am the child that told my Mother and Dad to their pure delight, that I "definately heard all the hoofs on the roof Christmas Eve".........could swear it to this day
The new Alvin movie out on Dec 14th looks great. Its a Christmas movie and those three chipmunks are so real looking........and they get into Christmas troubles. Now, that one is more for kids. Especially for kids.......but.........I'll be going.

I feel the same way about Blakeslee as you do about Mt Cobb. Once the snow starts in Blakeslee.......it never ends. It was the horror of our daughter who had to drive through that area every week from Bloomsburg University..........It never failed to snow there and she'd have to drive through it.
