Kidyankee764 In the town we live in, in Connecticut you have to register your animal with the town (dog) .....and you have to get an ID metal and pay 25.00 every year for it. (Ok so maybe not taxed per say) but you still have to pay for it, and if you have more then one dog, it all adds up.....

Prepare yourself, Deerme, Pennsylvania requires your dog(s) be licensed annually. Not a tax "per say".

Deerme,
You need to do what is best for you and your family. I can't believe so many are so down on someone wanting to move to NE PA. We moved here 7 years ago from NNJ. Our taxes here are the same for 4 acres as they were on our house in NJ which was an 80 x 100 lot with a 1000 sq ft hours. It's pitiful what NY/NJ/CT put on their residents for taxes. Yes, the commuting is crappy. I commute to Orange County, hubby commutes to Morris cty, NJ. It's not NYC but you know what you're in for when you make the move.

Delaware Valley School District is awesome. My son had an IEP for Speech and everyone was incredible with him. Granted speech was his only issue but from what I've seen, they are great with ALL of the students regardless whether they have an IEP or not.

Unless you live IN Milford Boro, yes, you do have to drive everywhere to run errands. I've learned to coordinate as many errands as I can into one trip or work them into another day/errand trip.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thank you ff18 wife so much for your positive post, it makes me feel a lot better about what we are considering!! Especially what you said about the school (that is one of the most important pieces of moving for us) Its nice to have a happy reassuring comment, about NEPA I felt like I was being attacked?!? I really appreciate it.
