What does everyone think about the sprawl-related articles on the front page of today's Wilkes-Barre Times-Leader newspaper? There were two different articles on the front of the paper. One highlighted the battle that residents of Dorrance Township, which is part of the Mountain Top suburban network, are waging against a local father/son team of developers who wish to bring nearly 2,000 more residents to the township with the addition of hundreds of new high-end single-family homes in a country club setting. The other highlighted how the growth in nearby Monroe County from NY and NJ transplants will soon be inevitably spilling over into adjacent Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties and must be planned for now.

Article One---Dorrance Township Country Club Development

Artcile Two---Sprawl's Advance Inevitable

I found both of these article to be extremely intriguing, and I look forward to tomorrow morning's installment. This is exactly the reason why I'm promoting our cities so much to NY/NJ transplants as opposed to all of these brand new residential housing developments on the periphery.
