Today I tuned in WAEB 790AM out of Allentown. This will replace the old WABC 770AM out of NYC for me, due to a change in programming.

WAEB comes in pretty clear at my house, about as clear as WABC did.

Now if only 990AM out of Philly would boost their signal I'd have a morning show worth listening to (Morning in America with Bill Bennett which is not broadcast on any NYC, NEPA, or Lehigh Valley stations).

Can you stream the stations (to phone or computer/tablet etc.)? If so, the choices and signals are both often better.

That's a good point. I have a new car now where I can play my phone thru the car speakers. Might be worth a shot to see if 990AM is streamable.

Many stations are now streamable via many apps such as TuneIn or the stations themselves. Funnilly I find that the generic apps often do a better job than the 'custom' station offered apps. It (and others) have a 'car mode' setting making it easier to see/switch settings. (I don't usually use the 'phadio' in the car but it does work, often well with just a cell signal (not need Wi-Fi)). YMMV...

I listen to CA, OR, AZ, FL NY, Phila/Pitt and other places and can quickly switch among them as programming changes. My 'phone' is a really good 'radio'
