Question POLL: Who is Your Favorite Regular Scranton City Council Speaker?

I was just wondering who is (are) your favorite "regulars" at the Scranton city council meetings? I've watched these people air their grievances so many times now that I feel as if they've become my extended family (even though many of these same people have probably bashed me on DohertyDeceit to no end, but I digress). They've entered my home office for week after week, and I almost feel like I "owe" them all something for helping to enhance my interest in local politics and civic activism. I'll do my best at the spelling of surnames, but I'll admit in advance I might be a bit off with some.

I think its funny that someone picked Joanne "consil" Williams who by far is one of the mayors biggest cheerleaders. She made a ass out of herself pushing Minicozzi(sp?) for school board. She'll push any issue or candidate that the mayor asks her to whether they are the right one for the people or not. Perfect specimen of the local scranton sheep.

Bahhh, bahhhh!! I guess I'm the sheep. LOL! I based my vote for Joanne Williams not because I agree with what she has to say, but for being ballsy enough and courageous enough to say it when she knows she'll get booed and jeered at afterwards. If someone were to approach the podium in Clarks Summit, which receives so many frou-frou accolades from everyone, and slammed it into the ground, I'd give them credit where credit was due as well for taking the "road less traveled," so to speak. It's not often the minority speaks out, and when it does, I have to applaud. Joanne knows she's unbelivably outnumbered, yet she doesn't let that faze her. That deserves some sort of recognition.

Well, I am sorry SWB....I can't check anyone, I don't know who they are
I know you love local politics. But, I have seen over the years where the banter finally gets to be enough. I'm talking years, and years of it.
Not that I don't love towns that I have lived in. But, personally I think the committees do the best jobs in promoting ones town. Without the bickering.......
My family has been on many a Beautification Committee, Historical Society Committee, and Parks and land Committees.
I really like seeing something happen before my eyes.
My dad once saw a bubbling spring on a piece of land in Denville. He got the ball rolling in town. This became Hepner Park on Diamond Spring Road. He also did many other parks in Denville. McCarter Park by the river, a park out off of 53 and he worked on Gardner Field......the main park and helped to design it.
I guess I am one that would skip the meetings and get my hands dirty with action.
I'd just wait until a meeting is over and hope they said "YES"......then begin!

I guess I'm partial to Dan, because he speaks his mind about real issues. He isn't afraid to tell it like it is.

I voted Lyman purely for comic value, although it was dead heat in that category with Les "Napoleon Dynamite" Spindler.

But as far as legitimate speakers who have legitimate complaints and present their arguments in a convincing and mature manner, I'd vote for Dan. The guy is truly standing up for his neighbors, rather than some of the others who seem to just show up to rant and rave to hear themselves talk.

I voted for Patilla only because I miss Peter Tosh.

Patilla would of been my second choice. I like his views and his assesment on the state of the city. Sometimes he goes over the top though.
