Alternative practicioners have been claiming the same thing with autistic kids for years. I've seen people pay hundreds of dollars for chelation supplements recommended by alternative medicine practicioners (magnesium sulphate), which is epsom salt that you could buy for pennies at a drug store.

Bottom line, do your homework and use your common sense. Look at reputable sites like the national institute of health, mayo clinic, even webmd to see what is said. You might even look at quackbusters. Then make an informed decision on what you want to do, not what the salesperson/practicioner wants you to do.
The fact is that I have seen more evidence to the contrary..and no I do not subscribe to that fad approach. I am now onto the facts. No multilevel money makers !!!! I truly believe factual basis and proven evidence by organizations that have no money or benefit by the same. I believe people when I see them post numerous counts of positive results after removing them. I know that I personally have been ill for 3 days since having one of these amalgams removed, I can litterally feel it.I have a rash around my legs that has not gone away sometimes it has gotten worse and then waned. I have a metallic taste in my mouth. I have vertigo too. These syptoms have been shown in other folks with Mercury Poisoning. The symptoms are varied and many and can be different in everyone.
However I am not going to subscribe to the first cure all DC that comes a rollin down the line!!! I have spoken now to a couple of people in Dentistry who do believe I have to get these out.Although they were far away..
These are DMD we are talking..not a DC or other.I live in the woods!!! I may end up driving quite far, but if I have to I will.
I also found two very interesting books "Tooth Truth" by Jerome Frank DDS
and "It's all in your head" by DR. Hal A. Higgins .. both outlining a series of questions to make sure you ask before seeing a dentist..especially about Mercury fillings..!!!
The first question is whether they even subscribe to using them!!!
I appreciate the insight on chelation therapy as well,,no I dont want it!!
There are fruits vegetables and whole grains as well as lotssss of vitamin c for that.

I should have mentioned that I know that the initial releases do increase with the actual removal, but 80% of the symptoms are reported to leave people entirely after that.Within a week it is supposed to greatly improve.
I can't wait to get this out of me!!!!!!

In an effort to share this with you and everyone out there I will note the following which can easily be referenced via the computer.

Scientifically Proven Facts About Dental Amalgam(Mercury Fillings)

1.Dental Amalgam contains about 50% mercury.
2.Mercury has been scientifically demonstrated to be more toxic than lead, cadmium or even arsenic.
3.Mercury leaves dental amalgam continuously throughout the life of the filling.
4.Mercury vapor is the main way that mercury comes out of amalgam.
5.Mercury vapor is absorbed at a rate of 80% through the lungs into the arterial blood.(see ref.)
6.Mercury kills cells.
7.There is no harmless amount of mercury vapor exposure.
8.Mercury from amalgam will filter through the tooth.
9.Mercury from amalgam is transported freely through the blood.
10.Mercury vapor is absorbed directly into the brain.
11.Mercury is implicated in alzheimers disease as well as many others.
12.Mercury rapidly depletes the immune system.
13.Mercury from amalgam causes a 50% reduction in kidney filtration,as shown in a study of sheep, after amalgam placement.
14.After chewing mercury vapor levels are elevated and remain raised for at least 90 minutes..
15.Mercury levels in the blood cannot be assessed by blood or urine tests.
16.Teeth have a massive communication via blood, lymph and nerves with the rest of the body.
17.Mercury is absorbed at a rate of 3 to 17 mcg/day(who 1991 criteria 118)
18.Mercury is transported along nerve fibers.
19.Mercury will cause single strand breaks in DNA.
20.Brain levels of mercury are in direct linear proportion to the number of surfaces of amalgam fillings in the mouth.

Mercury in Dental Fillings Disclosure And Prohibition Act(Introduced in House)
H.R. 2101.IH

Mercury Free Vaccines Act of 2007 ..H.R.881.IH(Introduced in House)

Childrens Mercury Act of 2007..(Introduced in House)
H.R.2813.IH

Reference above;Amalgam (Mercury Fillings): The great dangers

There has been much scientific research ..the ADA on its website clearly opposes the banning of any such material..mainly for legal reasons. If you doubt me ..simply look at the facts, there are many overwhelming facts that they consistently have denied.
The sad fact is that it would hold them responsible to admit such trouble.
Discrediting them and implicating them in a swath of lawsuits.Nobody wants to get sued, especially in terms of the numbers here!!!
There are many implications.

I find it hard to believe that you don't know any dentists in your area given the fact that you think you know so much about this issue. I believe you used the question as an excuse to push your political agenda. I believe you did the same thing with the whole animal abuse issue.
This isn't the forum for what you are trying to do.

I have an insatiable sweet tooth, so a good dentist is nice to have. To me, cheesecake, apple pie, ice cream...all worth the potential cavities.
Please "cut" the peroxide with water, 50/50 at least. Can be dangerous...

My dear friend,
I absolutely have no agenda but the truth..and the last time I went to a dentist here he made my face black and blue!!! Not again!! No way!!!
I want you to know that I am finding this stuff out with the very best of intentions and do wish to share it with all whom may benefit as well.
I have no agenda except to tell the truth about what I find out.

Also let me state that I am learning this stuff and returning from other sites where I am finding it out. You can pick on me if you like, but I am just being honest.
In fact I just found out more on this issue and will post it as I find it.
Wouldn't you like to know if there is something that could effect you?
Maybe this could help someone you know?

Two things to keep in mind......just because you read it on the internet doesn't make it true and if you want to truly be informed, you must read and understand both sides of the issue before forming your own conclusion.

Default I am studying as fast as I can.....

Thank you for that insight and of course it requires one to look at the entire scope.
Alright now I did find out Darby Dental Supply carries a ONE POUND bottle of mercury for only 65.95
this is under accessories for sale under alloys category.
Along with it you can get an amalgam well for a mere $7.95 cents.
Amalgam squeeze cloths (used to squeeze out excess mercury)
500 of them for the mere price of 12.95

There are numerous alloys available, the better ones go for alot more .
I also noticed that the name of this mercury was "superDent"
So I checked it out and sure enough some very interesting things came up.
Superdent is the same name of one of those toothpastes that came from China and was indeed on one of our federal govt web sites when I typed in the name. whether it is related I do not know yet.The FDA made mention of this name regarding the tainted toothpaste.

Gold is soaring right now so if a dentist wants that they actually said to call for the price on this site.
Copper bearing alloys were high too.
None-the-less ..if you or anyone you know is wild about a great dentist who is gentle and cares about the actual removal of these fillings in a safe way I should be greatfull for any referrals so I can complete my search.
I did find one who was fairly far away, but then most things are for me here!
Thank you!

I had my amalgam fillings removed 2 years ago and it was done by a dentist that is a teacher at Georgetown University. He and his staff used masks while removing it and took all the precautions recommended, when removing my amalgam fillings. Where do you live? I can recommend a dentist in MD and now we moved to MA and I can recommend one here, that I am very happy with.
