Default Merry Christmas from a former NEPAn

I've loved reading the threads here and seeing the pictures from my old hometown. Especially getting kielbasa from the suggestions on the thread I started. So thanks all youse NEPA's. Here is where one ended up and this photo is taken from my front porch here in the wilds of North Idaho. That's a river by the way and not a crick.

I'm wishing you and yours the most blessed of Christmases as well! It's so nice to see this forum so festive this year. I was one of the few NEPA members around for December 2006 on this forum, and you could hear a pin drop here. Just a year later the board is lighting up with well-wishers, and it's something awesome to see! Have a very Merry Christmas out there in Idaho! Give my regards to Sen. Larry Craig (just kidding!)

"Bonehead?" Sorry...I couldn't resist pointing out that little hidden pun! LOL! This is the exact reason why I have a fear of public restrooms.

That was baaad!
Good old Larry is from the southern part of the state...the potato country part. North Idaho has been talking about seceding for years. We don't claim him up here. Actually, I don't think they have much use for him down Boise way either. Nobody loves a hypocrite.

Wow, I love that picture. I remember when we first moved to Pa.
My daughter went to work at a doctors office. The girls would talk about the "crick"........finally one day.......the daughter had enough.........and she exclaimed......"Its creek people, its creek!"......." what, in the world is a crick"
It always made for a laugh, when we'd talk about that. I don't hear it so much now, but at the time......it was pretty common.
The only thing we called a crick, is a crick in the neck when it would tighten up...........nothing about flowing water in that word. LOL
PS We have good friends in Idaho.........

Just breathtaking.......I would say that North Idaho looks like god's country. The picture reminds me of the NEPA back in the 1970's. Just lovely. Merry Christmas!!

It's funny that you would say that. I've told my husband that North Idaho reminds me a lot of NEPA when I was a kid (in he 70's) but logging is the big industry here, not coal mining. And instead of just the black bears that used to go thru our trash in Clarks Summit, we have grizzlies passing thru and a pack of wolves across the river. The mountains are bigger too.
