My New Years resolution is not to take life, family , and friends for granted, or to take life too serious, and to live life a moment at a time. After all life is just an interuption of non existence, before you were born you didn't exist, and when you die you don't exist !!!! ( only kidding, but it's funny) I hope this up coming year brings peace and love for all of you !!!!

John

I have joined the "Wonderful Club" and I resolve to continue my membership into this year. Basically, it's really simple, a club with no dues, no entry requirements other than the fact that you respond "wonderful" and smile brightly when people ask you how you are doing. Give it a try - do this when out and about all day long and people will begin to respond to you in a most amazing way. It has helped change my overall demeanor and attitude for the better

I am also resolving to be more patient, to do more good for others/volunteer more this year, and to continue my no-sugar diet and keep losing weight into 2008.

I want to have my six-pack abs back in time for Summer 2008 so I can be proud to show off my body again. As a Christmas gift my parents bought me a runners' belt with a built-in storage compartment for a cold beverage, which will free up my hands so that I can flex with dumbells while I run. I'd also like to find a running partner; all of my friends are obese and can't walk to the fridge without running out of breath (sniffle, sniffle ) They also got me a new sleeping bag, and my sister bought me new boots because another resolution of mine is to hike on a trail in every state park in Northeastern Pennsylvania in 2008---from Ricketts Glen to Hickory Run to Lackawanna to Promised Land and everywhere in between. As I become familiarized with the trails, I'd also like to consider trail-running, as I'm tiring of playing chicken with the traffic on Highway 315.

Happy New Year! (Prospero Ano for my friends in Hazleton!)

I made a New Year's resolution several years back to never make resolutions again and I haven't broken it yet.

Well, if you have a home already on Long Island and sell it you could laugh all the way to the bank with a much less expensive home anywhere in NEPA. Good luck!

Im an avid walker and I think Im ready to take on jogging/running. It's amazing how you can clear your mind when out on a peaceful morning. I have lots of other things to resolve this year but this is a standard issue thing.

Agreed. You'll also find that you'll have much more energy than you used to if you spend a half-hour each day going for a nice jog or brisk walk, and you'll also feel better about yourself. When I go running nine miles per day during the warmer months I get a certain "rush" in my system that gives me an energy boost and makes me feel like I'm improving my appearance, which gives me confidence to succeed in other things. Now that it's been too icy outside to run for the past six weeks or so I've felt much more depressed and much more sluggish. I've tried running on a treadmill, but something about running in the same place for an hour seems kind of unrewarding whereas running outdoors through several towns and bumping into people I haven't seen in years is refreshing.

Take up power-walking first and then progress up to jogging in 2008. You'll be glad you did!
