While you don't want to argue the point any further; here is the case of an Vietnam veteran that took it on his own to look for clues/evidence: Man Who Found Frein’s Jeep Just Happy To Help | WNEP.com. If it were not for Jim Novak; the investigation could have been days behind where it is now. Our "professionals" cannot be everyplace. That is why it is always important to have cooperation with the public. What do you think the odds are that our professionals will catch this man without further help from just average citizens?

One thing I do not like is many people in my community are frightened. To have police helicopters buzzing around especially at night really spooks people. I understand they have a job to do but to hover past the biggest community in NEPA disturbs me. People are jittery enough and sometimes you have to take the longer route and less populated ones, the police aren't the only ones stressed out. They may just be passing through but it truly is not helping anyone out around here. I got friends saying go back to NJ till this thing is over but I refuse to leave my home. I do not think this community is on the search grid yet but I truly wish they would quit buzzing through here every night. I wear a uniform to work, I understand they gotta do their job but I also don't want them passing over my house every night. It's irresponsible of them to put so many people on edge especially the kids. If they are searching here I have yet to see one police unit anywhere in here. Although the forest is vast and probably even more vast that I can imagine the police have unlimited help and resources. I hate to say this but I lost faith in them. I'm convinced they are only gonna find him if he wants to be found. We all have our breaking points, when he's done hiding he will expose himself for the big showdown. Hope the boys are up for the challenge....

Very curious to how much this search has cost us so far? I bet it's in the 7 digits already... Probably 3 or 4 small squads of Navy Seals would be more efficient and cost way less. Sometimes you find more with less. Food for though...

It would be way cheaper just to wait til he turns himself in.

And I'm pretty sure it's illegal to send the Navy after a fugitive on U.S. soil.

I get that you're pissed about the helicopters.

Right now we have no idea if he is even in the search area? Our police are not giving us any information. I know that they don't want to telescope their actions - but they do take a chance losing public support: Residents chafe over search for ambush suspect | PoconoRecord.com. The public's faith in the system only last for a limited time. When it becomes too inconvenient, for too long a time period, then we lose faith in the system. Either they have to be more forward with information or show us some results. Cooperation is the key to any successful ending.

There are people who firmly believe what this guy believes in, about our police, about our government. I firmly believe there are way, way, more people out there then you can imagine that has lost faith in the system. Everyone I know hates taxes and to know how the politicians are stealing daily and our tax dollars don't always go where they need to go. Tax dollars, drug money, lottery money, casino revenues, state tax, taxes on purchases, gas tax, liquor tax, cigarette tax. In this endless supply of money we can't balance budgets. All that being said in my line of work I deal with a lot of immigration inmates and they all say as bad as it gets here its far worse everywhere else. The system is flawed, yes but the truth is we are still in the best country in the world. People have lost faith in our way of life, these are people that would help a guy who acted upon what so many truly feel but will never act. Ditch the jeep, the license, the SS card is making a statement. Is it at all out of the realm of possibility he didn't act alone? That he took the shots because he was the best man for that job? He knew the woods, knew where he could make the jeep look like it got stuck, left the stuff behind to make a statement but had someone else right there waiting to drive him to a safe house? Planned out having 10 people, 50 people along the way sheltering him from all the cops out there? I know I am thinking outside the box but after all this time and basically nothing may be we need to open ourselves to other options. I'm sure they searched his computer. Laptops, throw away cell phones, tablets? His connectivity can be endless. If he planned like they say, he might not have planned alone..... Just food for thought... Yet another helicopter flies overhead....

I know that we can throw around conspiracy theories. I'm still having a problem with Frein's brother living in the same development as the dead State Policeman. I am also having a hard time getting away from the fact that our police were quick to tell the world that he shot on Pocono Mountain's rifle team - but have not told us the name of the war games group that Frein was involved with up until the time of the shooting. It had to have been almost fifteen years since he shot on the rifle team. We do not even know how good he was on the team? When I shot on their team it came in fourth in the State (we took the Northeastern Districts) two years in a row. Perhaps he is a better shot - we really don't know or do we know about any possible relationship or grudge that he or his brother might have had with the victims.

But time will tell more. Hopefully the whole thing will be over soon and I can get some fishing in before the weather turns cold! I just hope that he is not using our camp.

I cannot right now until this is settled! We would be going into some of the territory that they are currently searching. It is better to just stay out the way! Just let the professionals handle it without getting in the crossfire.

I just hope the weather holds out. We do have a nice lake.

So, according to the PSP news conference covered by WNEP.com, Frein smokes a "unique" brand of Serbian cigarettes and is using diapers, both of which have been found within the search area.

I was a little concerned that he wasn't really there and had escaped perhaps to another state, but if they've really found those things then I guess he's really in those woods somewhere.
