Hey guys- long time no talk.
A friend of mine asked me about bi-racial couples in NEPA and I wasn't
sure how to answer how that would fly. Lake Wallenpaupack, Milford and Blue Mountain were all areas that were discussed.
Thanks-
Happy New Year!
SWB-when you getting back on the photo tour road?

Happy New Year to you as well! I personally wouldn't have any problems with bi-racial couples, and I don't think many folks in Pike County would as well. After all, they are exposed enough to folks from the city to realize that somebody who is non-white isn't a threat (or hopefully should realize this anyways).

I'll be going back out on the photo tour road once the weather breaks in Spring 2008; I don't like taking these bleak photos of no vegetation and overcast days.

In some parts of NEPA a biracial couple is Irish and Italian.

...and the Irish husband is part of a highly-organized Roman Catholic network in Scranton designed to keep the "little people" down.

My Irish-Catholic grandmother almost had a stroke when one of her kids married a Protestant, in a Protestant church, no less. She almost wasn't going to attend.

Needless to say, she's lightened up a lot since then, which was over 30 years ago.

And with that, her membership in the ICN was unceremoneously revoked, right? Her relatives back on the Emerald Isle have officially disowned her, too, I bet.

They took away her subscription to the Scranton Times and everything. She was stuck with reading The Scrantonian on Sunday mornings until they went belly-up.
