returning home, where to go and what to see?
Well on the 18th i start my 10 day vacation in my home town of bear creek after moving to phoenix 2 years ago. I'm looking for ideas of places to stop and see. I have some of my personal favorites to wander through in wilkes-barre, Scranton and hazleton. I would like to check out some of the sights of the pocono region since is never really ventured that direction while living there. I plan on taking a spin through the hideout, thanks to some advice from I LOVE PA! . Other than that i'm not to familiar with that region at all, and looking for some interesting and run of the mill types of places to visit, including big box shopping plaza's *cue dramatic music since i referred to the evil empire*
I'm up for about anything, and i would especially like to find some marine fish and coral shops. the only one i knew of for the region was in pittston, and i'm not sure if its even still there.

You should also try to get to Lake Wallenpaupack in Lakeville. That's my favorite place to visit! The lake is beautiful and there are nice restaurants in the area as well. Gresham's Steak House is a nice place for a cozy dinner. There is Cove Haven for the couples in love too!

Cove Haven is a nice place. You can't beat the personal inground pools in the rooms.
One place to avoid like the plague: Mount Haven near Milford. What a rat trap.

I hear Great Wolf Lodge, the indoor water park, is a good time. For shopping, there's always the outlets in Tannersville.

I would love to spend the day at Great Wolf Lodge, but you need to book a room to have the fun!
I wolud make a day trip to Montage Mountain, see a movie at Cinemark, check out the shoppes at Montage, have a steak dinner at The Longhorn or visit the Irish Pub there, and then take the whole family snow tubing at Sno Mountain!

If it were spring I'd say take a romantic walk around West Pittston beneath the cherry blossom trees along the river to marvel at the Victorian homes after having a nice dinner at Agolino's. The evening could be capped off with ice cream at Blue Ribbon Dairy and a few games of bowling at Modern Lanes just down "the ave" in Exeter (even though it's a bit of a dive).

I hope that your not planning on going snow tubing anytime soon. They'll be lucky to even stay open if the weather doesn't change soon.

Sno Mountain can get that back up and running in no time, they have over 200 snow makers, and hopefully by next week they can make snow at night as the temps are going down next week. They still have plenty of the ski hills open. He is coming on the 18th, so this warm front should be over hopefully! I know many love it...but it is SUPPOSED to be winter!

If the skiiers are miserable in the winter, then I'm happy. Nothing against the skiiers, but I hate cold winter weather and love when its too warm for snow. I'm ready for baseball, as well as a lower heating bill.
