Smile Northeastern Pennsylvania Photo Tour: PART SEVEN

Hello there folks! I must start by apologizing for the long span of time that has elapsed since I last posted a photo thread. I've been a very busy beaver over the past several weeks, picking up a second major, handling a larger workload at Lowe's, and landing a new significant other, so I've tossed my photography aside! However, I was afforded the opportunity today to head on up to Old Forge, about five miles away from my home, to snap a few shots. I only snapped twenty photos; the townspeople are very inquisitive and downright "nosy" at times, and I was getting tired of having people rolling down their car windows to ask me what I was doing or just staring at me while I walked by as if I was Old Forge's first and only tourist! While taking photos in the other previous towns wasn't such a big deal because they're typical "touristy" areas, Old Forge is simply a non-descript, blue-collar suburb of Scranton, so it apparently came as a shock to most people that there are indeed people interested in their little neck 'o the woods! I just tired a bit of trying to dodge glares and questions, so I snapped a quick 20 pics and shoved off! Enjoy!

Wow! FOUR Welcome Signs Within a Few Hundred Feet! Talk About a Friendly Town!

Default When The Moon Hits Your Eye Like A Big Pizza Pie...You're in Old Forge!

The Lackawanna River passes beneath South Main Street in Old Forge at the gateway to town. This little river caused quite a bit of damage during the Flood of 2006 back in June!

A few scenes from "Downtown" Old Forge (The Downtown Has Become a Bit Disorganized Over the Years With a Blend of Parking Lots, Fast-Food Restaurants, a Strip Mall, and Pharmacies, But a Few Reminders of Yesteryear Remain!)

"Yo! You Talkin' to Me? We ain't in Kansas No More Luigi! This Is Mob Turf, Home of the Bufalino Crime Family!"

Arcaro & Genell, my favorite restaurant in Old Forge...

....which sits across Main Street from Brutico's...

...which sits adjacent to Cafe Rinaldi...

...all of which are less than a block away from Revello's...

...and just up the road from Brownie's!

Old Forge Town Hall

Old Forge Bank

Dooley's Pub

Old Forge High School

An Office Building on Main Street

Hope you all enjoyed your trip to the "Pizza Capital of the World!"

Always enjoy the pics, these locations remind me of home, raised most of my 40 years in NW PA. I must admit although I've been looking possibly at the san antonio/new braunfels texas area a part of me still wants to move back to pennsylvania despite the snow. Been following your photo tour towns like the ones you show are hard to find in other places.

Wait a minute - who said you could have a life????? If you went a little further up the line, you would've hit Taylor...... If you were down here (NC), you might've been arrested as a terrorist - serious - it happened.
