The house we looked at was in great shape and really quiet area. I looked up . Now we know our price range and will get serious in the spring (save $$ over the winter). Anything by the big lake and Promised Land below $150,000 was not worth it to us in the area we wanted to be.

below promised land looks like bungalows to me . way to depressed looking for me to ever want to live down that way .

no comparison to north of i-84 .

we know lots of people in tanglwood north . we had dinner with the ex-president of the board a few weeks ago to celebrate my retiring . we live in nyc but used to have a house in the area .

I agree, north of I-84 is a nice area (Tafton, which is where we were looking at houses)

well tanglwood north or the sister development tanglewood estates are very nice . not a lot of amenity's but just a nice place to live .

our decision to leave the area was because that is not the place we felt we wanted to retire to.

it lacked all the things we wanted in retirement and so we decided to stay put in queens in nyc .

no public transportation if we couldn't drive

limited specialists

limited medical facility's

no where to really work if i wanted to work a bit other than minimum wage mom and pop stores

we couldn't even get the mail without driving to the mail boxes

nothing to do all winter

in short all the things we would want as we age were already right here where we live so we made the decision to sell the house .

Default Poconos

MAFIA
Poconos is a very high Drug and Crime area.
Look at the Original owner of Mount Airy Lodge
was shot in the head and the mafia started building a casino without a casino license.

Go to endless Mountains 35 miles north you won't be sorry

depends where . most of the issues are not in pike or wayne . no different than any other area where you have good and bad sections

it looks like it may have been sold . it no longer appears in the mls listings . so either it was old or off the market . 2 sites show it but they do not update their listings i noticed .
